Janet Lynn Leskovec

Janet Lynn Leskovec passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, at the age of 63. Born in Ishpeming, Michigan she was the daughter to John and Dolores Ohlson.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years, John Leskovec, their children – Benjamin Leskovec of Cary, Hannah Leskovec of Holly Springs, and two sisters, Martha Ohlson of Pueblo CO and Joyce Peterson of Greenville SC.

Janet was born and grew up in Ishpeming MI and Virginia MN. She attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a BS mechanical engineering degree. After graduation, she worked for IBM as a mechanical engineer and a computer programmer and held two patents. Later in life, she earned her Master’s Degree in elementary education and worked for the Wake County School System as an Instructional Assistant at Brooks Elementary School. She and John were married on August 30, 1986 and they lovingly raised their two children in Endicott, NY and in Cary.

Janet will be remembered for being kind towards all. She was especially endeared to her children and students. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church.

After retirement, Janet continued to volunteer at Brooks Elementary School. She also stayed frequently at Lake Gaston where she enjoyed swimming, knitting, reading books, and generally being outdoors.

The family will receive friends at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC, 27511 on January 9, 2026, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Francis United Methodist Church, 2965 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary on Saturday, January 10th at 10:00 am.
