Janie Wang-Mazza, born May 4, 1965, was raised and educated in Taiwan, Republic of China. She relocated to the United States in 1989 at the age of 24, married in Pelham Manor, NY on July 18, 1992, and became a Naturalized American Citizen in 1995. Along with her husband of thirty years and their two daughters, ages 28 and 26, she had been a resident of Cary, North Carolina since 1998. Janie passed away peacefully at home in the arms of her loving husband and daughters on Saturday, June 25, 2022.
Janie graduated with a degree in Chemistry from Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science, Taiwan in 1989. She also graduated from Mitchell’s Academy, Raleigh, NC in 2013 and became a licensed Esthetician. Healthy, beautiful skin had been her lifelong passion and it showed in her own appearance as well as the knowledge she shared with clients, family and friends.
In 2005 and again in 2012, Janie had surgery to remove brain tumors. Subsequently, over the next ten years she was plagued with multiple brain related illnesses that finally ended her life at the age of 57.
Janie leaves to cherish her loving memory, husband Perry Mazza of Cary, NC; daughters Sabrina Mazza, of Miami, Florida and Samantha Mazza of Denver, Colorado; a mother, sister, and brother in Taiwan; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Rosemarie and Ronald Fass, Boca Raton, Florida; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Frank and Kathleen Mazza, Cary, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews. cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 5 pm at The Brown-Wynne Funeral Home Chapel in Cary followed by a reception at Rey’s Restaurant also in Cary
The family requests donations be made to the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center in lieu of flowers.
