

Jeff was born in London, England, to George W. Worth and Maud Salt Worth on May 25, 1943. He came to America at the age of 18 months aboard the Queen Mary. Jeff served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Newport News prior to joining IBM. Jeff worked for IBM for 28 years, starting his career at Cape Canaveral, FL, then was transferred to Kingston, NY, and ended up in Raleigh, NC. After IBM, Jeff worked for Tekelec until retirement.
Jeff was an avid fisherman, as shown by his license plate “FISHNJEF”. He was a member of Capital City Bass Masters. He also loved to play golf and spend time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 41 years, Nancy Worth; children, Curtis (Missy) Worth of Rockwood, TN, Leslie Worth of Normal, IL, and Jennifer (Ryan) Lawrence of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Halie, Alivia, Abby, Tanner and Sloane; sister, Janet (Don) Mitchell of Kingston, TN; beloved pet, Ginger; aunts, Elizabeth Worth and Marge Worth of Lexington, IL, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, George and Maud Worth of Kingston, TN, and by his uncles Bernard Worth and Lloyd Worth of Lexington, IL.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Macedonia United Methodist Church, 2700 Jones Franklin Rd, Cary, NC 27518.
The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 am at the church prior to the service.
