Jessie Helen Knehr

Jessie Helen Knehr, 96, died after a brief illness on Wednesday, March 31, 2010. She was born March 5, 1914 in Glanworth, Ontario, Canada to John Henry and Jessie (Cristie) Smith. She was a graduate of the Victoria Hospital School of Nursing in London, Ontario after which she became a U.S. citizen and moved to Buffalo, NY. Jessie married Francis Knehr in 1952 and later they retired to Bradenton, FL. When Francis passed away in 1993 Jessie moved to Cary to be near her daughter. Jessie was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Cary Senior Center Day Care and presently resided at the Phoenix Assisted Living in Cary.

Jessie is survived by a step-daughter, Judith Beatty and husband, Jack of Cary, NC; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren in NC and CT; several nieces and nephews in Canada.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd, Cary, NC.
