

He was born in Robbins, NC on May 13th, 1938 and was the son of the late Henry and Mamie Stutts. He was married to Brenda R Stutts for 60 years.
Jim was a 1961 graduate of North Carolina State College in Mathematics Education. After teaching for a short time in Gastonia, NC he went to work for the Kendall Corporation and later transitioned into data processing at Fieldcrest Mills. He had a 30-year career with Fieldcrest, and after leaving the company he contracted for the Dept. of Energy for several years before fully retiring to travel and spend time with family.
He was a member of Central United Methodist church in Concord, NC and First Cary United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodworking, and was a passionate NC State fan, attending football games for 55 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Paul, Winfred, Bill and Harold; and sister Geraldine Lanier.
He is survived by his wife Brenda, son Tony (Arnetta), daughter Laura Sharpe (Steve), grandchildren Jacob and Anna Stutts, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held at Brown Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd, Cary, NC 27511 on Thursday September 5,2024 at 10:00am, followed by the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00am in the Brown Wynne Chapel. There will be a private Graveside held at a later time.
