

Joe went to high school in Illinois, did a tour with the Marines, stationed in Korea and returned to complete his college education with the G.I. bill.
Finally Settling in North Carolina, where he received his doctorate at NC State University in Mathematics.
Once a Wolfpack fan always a Wolfpack fan, Dad stayed to teach as a professor of mathematics (teaching the hard math like calculus and trigonometry).
He taught at North Carolina State his entire career.
In 2000, Joe retired and was given the honor of Professor Emeritus. He then enjoyed a long retirement. His daily routine never really changing over the years. Starting his day at the gym where everyone called him “The Governor And then usually stopping by the same coffee shop enjoying a cappuccino. He enjoyed birdwatching, baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, Wordle, and current affairs to name a few.
Our dad was full of stories and had a great sense of humor. Talking to people with ease, he had a lot of long-term friends and Many people who he considered family.
He has survived by his children, Michele Marlin, Suzanne Marlin Disher & Husband David,
Granddaughter Kimberly. His Sister Doris & multiple nieces and nephews. Tram & Mary Mai Kasper & family. Plus, lots and lots of friends from all over the world.

Our dad lived a long, full life of love, friendship, and memories. He will be deeply missed by many, forever remembered in our hearts.
