Joseph R. Posek

Joe was born on July 7, 1921, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Joseph A. and Agnes (Michelitz) Posek. After graduating from St. John the Baptist High School, he worked for the United States Postal Service for 36 years and retired as Manager of the Mehlville Post Office in 1978. He filled his time after retirement collecting antiques and curiosities and enjoying the company of his extended family and many friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Mildred M. (Hertel) and their three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Mary of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, Robert and Linda of Santa Monica, California, and John and Nancy Posek of Cary, North Carolina; grandchildren: Melissa Spencer, Jill Shea, Jackie, Kate, Jenny, Elizabeth, Stephanie, Matt and Stephen Posek; and great grandchildren: William, Owen, and Quentin Spencer and Edward (Teddy) Shea.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice. A funeral mass and final interment will take place in St. Louis, Missouri at a later date.
