Julienne Territo Stewart

Julienne Territo Stewart departed this life peacefully on July 13, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 13, 1954, to Thomas A. Territo and Betty Marse Territo Mitchell, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Larry Stewart; her sister-in-law, Phyllis Stewart; her nephew, Grant Stewart (Rachel ); and her uncle and godfather, Julien E. Marse Jr. She is also survived by many devoted cousins from the Territo and Marse families.

Julie was born in New Orleans, grew up in Harvey, Louisiana, and moved to North Carolina after her marriage. She attended Ursuline Academy, St. Mary's Dominican College, and Louisiana State University, where she earned a Master of Science degree in Food and Nutrition. Julie was a licensed and registered dietitian with extensive experience in foodservice management. She worked for 12 years in school foodservice before joining SAS Institute in 1989 as Food Service Manager. In 2003, she was promoted to Food Service Director. Throughout her distinguished career, she was honored as a recipient of the Silver Plate Award and recognized as Young Dietitian of the Year.

Julie was an active member of the American Dietetic Association and served as Special Events Division Manager for the Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic. She was also a member of the Silver Plate Society and a founding member of the North Carolina chapter of Les Dames d'Escoffier, where she helped lead fundraising efforts to combat hunger and support women's culinary education. Julie further dedicated her time to organizations including Taste of Hope and Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.

Committed to serving others, Julie served on the board of Life Experiences, a nonprofit organization that provides services for adults with disabilities. She believed strongly in giving back to her community and found great fulfillment in helping those in need.

Julie enjoyed spending time at their lake house, gardening, cooking, traveling, and surrounding herself with family and friends. Her beautiful smile and infectious laugh will never be forgotten. She touched the lives of all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 146 Fourth Street, Westwego, Louisiana, on Thursday August 6, 2026 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Cemetery, 1225 Whitney Avenue, Terrytown, Louisiana.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, North Carolina on August 27, 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

There will be no formal program or set arrival time; simply stop by anytime between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. to enjoy conversation, tell stories, and spend time with Julie’s family as we honor a life that touched so many.
