Ormond served in the Navy during WWII as a Seabee. He returned to his home near Waycross, GA and resumed his education at the Georgia Institute of Technology earning a degree in Civil Engineering. He had a career spanning 42 years in the contruction of power plants. Ormond was preceded in death by his son, Gregory; and his grandson, Travis.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Sarah; his grandchildren, Tyler, Keri, Troy; his great grandchildren, Jackson, Norah; and his sister, Theta James.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at White Plains United Methodist Church in Cary. The family will have a reception following the service in the Christian Life Center.
