Kenneth (Ken) James Donovan

December 23, 1955July 19, 2019

Kenneth (Ken) James Donovan, 63, passed away in the early morning of Friday, July 19th, after the onset of an unexpected illness, leaving many friends and family behind.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 38 years, Gail Donovan, their two incredible children Katie Vinten (Aaron Vinten) and Patrick Donovan (Chloe Weise) along with two beautiful grandchildren.

Ken lived his life with an indomitable spirit and firmly rooted faith. Throughout his life, he stood tall, no matter what was thrown his way.

Those who knew Ken, will always remember him for his magnetic personality, his contagious smile, sense of humor and his genuine compassion for others.

As he didn’t believe in ceremony, rather than any formal services his family asks that all who knew and loved this mountain of a man, take a moment today and remember him with a warm memory and a smile, and to pay kindness forward with a good deed to someone in need.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name of Kenneth Donovan, to the American Heart Association in the following link- www.heart.org (click DONATE NOW in the upper right hand corner).

Dear Gail Donovan and family,
We here at Cary Sign Company (formerly Signs By Tomorrow), Jeri, Bill and Greg, are so very sorry for the loss of Ken. We have done work for Ken for many years, first when he owned the Baseball Hall of Fame and later Wii Bounce and Big E Bounce.... Ken was always full of enthusiasm and moxie, never knew what to expect when he came barreling thru the doors.... Ken was a pleasure to work with, we will remember him fondly. Take care, and do know that you are in many peoples' thoughts and prayers.

I had the honor of teaching side by side of Gail for just a few years. She shared her love of her kids and Ken often. My heart is with you, Gail, at this time.
Prayers and love your way~

Ken Donovan, Apex North Carolina
Thanks Ms. Gail that she told me that Mr. Donovan is no more in this world. I met Ken and Gail Donovan around 10-12 years before, and became good friends. I always enjoyed talk with him. And, I had enjoyable talk with him recently. Mr. Donovan, I pray the God give you eternal peace and strength to your family to forbear such a loss. You will always be in my heart with your very jolly personality. …Singh

My memories of Ken will live on forever. As a child from Ireland, I spent some of the best summers with Gail and Ken. Even though it was 31 years ago, I know he still loved to hear from me and to know I was doing ok. Ken always made sure we had fun no matter where we went. Listening to Hall and Oates in the car has been music that has stuck with me my whole life so, Ken I thank you for that. Even as a child, he offered advise and drive for life’s journeys that lay ahead of me and I will never forget that. Thank you Gail and Ken for giving me some of the best childhood memories anyone could ever give a child. I was blessed to know and, still to this day keep in touch with this beautiful, special family. Ken, you will hold a special place in my heart forever.....Love Andrina x
