

Linda was born on April 12, 1941 in Wolfeboro, NH to the late George and Carolyn Brunel Wallace. She attended the University of New Hampshire, studying Home Economics and Textiles. Before graduation, she left the University to raise a family. She worked for NH Blue Cross Blue Shield for many years In 1998, Linda moved to Raleigh to be closer to her family. In Raleigh, she was employed by Dorothea Dix hospital in medical records.
Linda was a lover of cats and dogs. At one point she was like the cat lady collecting them. She was an open & accepting person ahead of her time in many respects. She had an amazing green thumb & loved to garden. She had skill for growing indoor violets and cultivating them. She liked to travel and went to several countries in her lifetime as well as traveled in the US. She was a good cook and made amazing chocolate chip cookies. She was much loved and will be missed by her family.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Susan Arlene Barbour.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Karen and husband Raymond Gonzales; her grandsons, Jeremiah and Joshua Gonzales; and a brother, Richard Wallace and wife Dr. Elizabeth Gormley.
A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, September 8th from 1:00 – 3:00pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd. Cary, NC 27511.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wake County SPCA.
