Lorena Betty Martin

Lorena Betty Martin, 78, of Cary, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Endicott, New York, Lorena lived a life defined by her deep Catholic faith, spiritual devotion, and boundless love for her family and community.

Lorena was the cherished wife of Thomas Martin III, with whom she shared 52 beautiful years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Allison Pine, and son, Thomas Martin IV, and a doting grandmother to her six grandchildren: Nathan, James, Sophie, and Charles Pine, and Barrett and Langley Martin. Her family was her greatest joy, and she filled their lives with warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support. Lorena’s love for her children shone through in the countless moments she spent nurturing their dreams, sharing her faith, and creating cherished memories.

A resident of Cary, NC, Lorena’s compassionate heart and spiritual strength touched all who knew her. Her Catholic faith guided her life, inspiring acts of kindness and a deep commitment to helping others.

Lorena is survived by her husband, Thomas Martin III; her children, Allison Pine and Thomas Martin IV; her daughter-in-law, Erika Martin; her six grandchildren; her sister, Vicki Eppner; and her brother-in-law, Martin Eppner. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Margaret Root, and her brothers, Joe and Charles “Duke” Root. Her family finds comfort in knowing that her kindness and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
