Madalene Grandy Biggs

Mrs. Biggs was born February 5, 1923 in Winchester, MA to the late Emmett Wentworth Grandy and Eva Swain Grandy. She was a charter member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, FL.

Mrs. Biggs was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, E. Earl Biggs; brothers, Emmet Wentworth Grandy, Jr. and Charles Edward Grandy; and daughter-in-law Evelyn Trivett Biggs.

She is survived by her daughter, Anne Biggs Yerby and her husband, Lemuel of Cary, NC; son, Grandy Biggs and his wife, Lou of Stuart, VA; grandchildren, Nathan Biggs and his wife, Laura; Emily Yerby; and Abigail Thacker and her husband, Warren; step-grandchildren, Steve Jones; Greg Jones; and David Jones.

A memorial service will be held 2 pm Saturday, January 4, 2013 at Cary Presbyterian Church, 614 Griffis Street, Cary, NC 27511. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
