

Margaret Boney Rapp, age 92, passed away on September 6, 2025 in Cary, NC. Margaret was born May 5, 1933 on her family’s farm outside Windsor, Missouri to William Campbell and Anne Sutherland Boney.
Margaret’s early education was in a one room country school. She went on to graduate from Windsor High School as Valedictorian of her class and to earn a degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. She was an avid reader and enjoyed extensive travel during her life.
Margaret appreciated, studied, and created various forms of art, with a special passion for printmaking. She devoted time to volunteer work. For many years she was a dedicated volunteer for Reach to Recovery, supporting other women following breast cancer. She shared her time as a reading tutor for elementary school children and a leader of preschool classes at the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary in Houston where she shared her passion for attracting Monarch butterflies.
She will be fondly remembered by many, especially for the sweaters she lovingly knit and her Christmas cookies that became a family tradition. Margaret was married to David W Rapp for 56 years until his passing in 2011. Additionally, she is predeceased by her older sister, Etta Jean Boney Watters.
She is survived by her daughter, Anne Shambley (Clay) of Cary, NC and son, Bill Rapp (Yumi) of San Diego, CA; Grandsons Will Shambley (Laurel) , David Shambley (Meghan) and Grant Shambley (Matalee), as well as great grandsons Oliver, Calvin, Lucas, Cyrus and Henry Shambley.
A private burial will follow at a later date.
