Mama Sony, it's been hard without you here.  I miss you, your recounting of your aches, your requests for big hugs, your sassiness, and your seemingly inexhaustible patience.  Your name was preceded by one title you held in importance: mama.  That's what you were to my cousins and me, someone who mothered us, and I am so grateful for that.  The presence of your love and its force in our lives is marked by your absence.  I'm glad you're no longer in pain, but I will feel the pain of losing you for quite some time.  As far as testaments for a person's life go, as you might have said, that's not bad.  I love you.

To my Mama Sony, I love you so much and will miss you every day. You were another mom to me and I'm so thankful that the Lord put you in my life, for the relationship we had, and for everything you've done for me. I hope you know how much I love you and will miss you, you're smile, and your wonderful, joyful personality. Thank you for everything. I miss you so much already but I am happy to know that you are no longer in pain and are with Jesus. I love you, Mama Sony, and I will see you again.
