Marian Abbott Burger

Mary was a loving, devoted, and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mary lived for her family and friends. She lit up every room with her radiating smile and bright pink garments. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, cooking, socializing over card games and sweet treats, and watching Duke basketball games. While she may no longer be with us, her legacy will live on in our hearts forever.

Mary is survived by her two children: Sharon (Dan) Milikowsky of New Haven, CT and Robert (Marianne) Burger Jr. of Cary, NC; and six grandchildren: Matthew (Nicole) Milikowsky and their children Sam, Myles, and Sadie, Jason (Kristin) Gurganus and their children Cy and Sailor Stone, William (Jayden) Gurganus, Jennifer (Tylan) Milikowsky, Celia Burger, and Caroline Burger. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Robert Burger Sr., daughters Lisa Gurganus and Michelle Burger, son-in-law Dan Gurganus, and grandson Jonathan Milikowsky.

A private inurnment and celebration of life will be held for the family.
