Marie Lorraine (Andreozzi) Leath, of Cary, NC, formerly of State College, PA passed away peacefully on October 11, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, hospitality, and joyful energy that touched everyone she met. Born in Providence, RI, on October 10, 1932, she lived a life defined by warmth, generosity, and an unmistakable sense of style — especially her beloved hats, which became her signature and a reflection of her vibrant personality.
She never knew a stranger. Whether welcoming newcomers at church, making friends at the YMCA, or opening her home to visitors, she had a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and instantly comfortable. Her warmth was effortless, and her kindness was constant.
For more than forty years, she was a devoted member of the aerobics community at the State College YMCA. What began as exercise became a cherished circle of friendship, laughter, and support. She showed up with enthusiasm, forming bonds that lasted decades and becoming a beloved presence in the lives of many.
Her faith was a steady guide throughout her life. As an active member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, she volunteered and participated fully in the life of the parish. Her commitment to service extended well beyond the church walls. Over the years, she gave her time to numerous community organizations and proudly served as president of the Faculty Women’s Club of Penn State, where she built lasting connections and supported the university community.
Above all, she was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, Ken, and her children Ken (Tricia), Steven (Janet), Kevin (Audrey), and Maria (Bob), as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry her love forward. Her family, friends, and community will remember her for her welcoming spirit, her elegance, her generosity, and the joy she brought into every room she entered.
Her memory will remain a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in her memory at: https://www.ymcaofcentrecounty.org/support/memorial-gifts/marie-leath-memorial/ or mailed to: YMCA of Centre County, State College Branch, 677 West Whitehall Road, State College, PA 16801.
