
She was born July 28, 1922 in Hopkinsville, KY a daughter of Thomas Patterson and Elizabeth O’Brien Kennedy. She was the younger sister to her brother, Clarence Earl Kennedy. She married John Oliver Morris Jr. and he preceded her in death in 2007. She is also preceded in death by her parents.
She was the proud and devoted wife of John who retired as the Commanding Sergeant Major for the 101st Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell, KY. He was also a County Commissioner for Montgomery County in Clarksville, TN.
Marjorie was full of talent and had a great outlook on life. She was an accomplished artist who left some of her work for her family to cherish.
Surviving are her daughter, Judy Burnham of Durham, NC; two grandchildren, Christopher Morris Burnham of Memphis, TN and Laura Elizabeth Kimball of Apex, NC; four great grandchildren, Jack, Olivia, James “Jim”, and Kaleigh; and other extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum in Raleigh. Entombment will be in the mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215 or Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
