Melissa Galloway Snell, 42, of Raleigh, NC completed her battle with breast cancer on February 21, 2019 and was healed in the arms of Jesus! Melissa was born October 12, 1976 in Kernersville, NC where she lived her young life. She moved to Raleigh for college and made it her home.
Melissa was the example of beauty and grace. Her smile lit up every room she entered. Her kindness radiated. Her presence encouraged everyone around her to be better. She selflessly loved. She fought hard until the very end.
She was most proud of her role as mom to her four precious children. Between her involvement with their soccer games, scout meetings, robotics competitions, swim meets, camps, school events, church, and other daily activities, she managed to always make time to love each one of them exactly the way they needed to be loved. She treasured their time together on beach vacations and embraced the simple moments of sitting together playing a game or watching a show. Her love for children continued into the classrooms where she excelled in her role as beloved preschool teacher. She loved her “kiddos” and enjoyed watching them learn and grow.
Melissa is survived by her parents, Peggy and Larry Robbins of Kernersville, NC, and Charles and Linda Galloway of Winston Salem, NC; her children Lundy, Britton, Tucker, and Ellory Snell of Raleigh, NC; her brother and wife Michael and Julie Galloway of Winston Salem, NC; her maternal grandmother Josephine Mathis of Kernersville, NC; paternal grandfather Bill Galloway of Knoxville, TN; plus her niece and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. To know Melissa was to be a part of her family!
Please join us in celebrating Melissa’s life at a reception and time of visitation Friday evening March 1, 2019, between 6-8pm at Hope Community Church, 821 Buck Jones Rd, Raleigh, NC 27606. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Community Church or Hospice of Raleigh, NC.
