Mildred Bannister Latham, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, December 22, 2014. Born on April 16, 1926 in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Allan and Georgia McLaurin Bannister and sister of the late Bettie Jean, J. A. Bannister, Jr. and Jerome Bannister. Mildred was also predeceased by an infant son, William Fent Latham, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, William Fent Latham; daughter Cindy Walker (Randy), of Cary; son: Stan Latham, of Colonial Heights, VA; grandchildren: Wes Walker (Melissa) of Cary, Lindsay McCall (Cameron), of Apex and Jared Latham of Blacksburg, VA; and great-grandchildren: Lawson, Britton and Ellis Walker and Bailey and Miles McCall.
A Celebration of Mildred’s Life will be held on Sunday, January 4th at 3 PM at St. Francis United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
