Loved by so many and affectionately known as Mama, Mema, and Miss Millie. Her family and especially her babies were her most loved and cherished priorities throughout her long life. She was born to Aubrey Nelson, Sr., and Maggie Nelson on April 5, 1928, and raised in the town of Whitmire, South Carolina, where she graduated from Whitmire High School. Mema’s kind, gentle spirit and her unwavering, unconditional love touched those around her every single day of her life. Mema was the heart and soul of our family.

I was one of Ms. Mildred's customers for years at Burger King. It was always such an uplifting experience to spend those few minutes with her at the drive thru. She was one of the most pleasant people I have ever known. She was well loved in our community. It is amazing what an impact just a few moments in a day can have on a person. She brightened the day of many. Bless her family. She was such a positive influence to many. It was always a nice to start my day after a visit to her window.
