Pamela Charters

Pamela Charters, 80, of Raleigh, North Carolina, sadly passed away on November 4th, 2015 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Rex Hospital for their efforts to save Pamela. We appreciate their caring assistance and compassion during this very difficult time.

Pamela was born on August 27th, 1935, in Rockville Centre, NY, to the late John MacKnight and Pamela Thomson MacKnight Meyer. Pamela grew up in Malverne, NY and raised her family in Queens and on Long Island, prior to moving to Raleigh in 2004.

In addition to her parents, Pamela was preceded in death by her youngest son Edward, in December 2014.

Pamela is survived by her children David A. Charters (wife Cynthia), Pamela J. Kropa (husband Alan), and Martin R. Charters; twin sister Priscilla Castellano (husband Raymond); brother Jack MacKnight (wife Carole); grandchildren Carrie Decker (husband Eric), Brian Kropa (wife Morgan), Megan D’Albora (husband Jacob), Craig Kropa (wife Lauren), and Auna Charters; great-grandchildren Sarah, Josh, Sadie, and Alice Decker, Gracie and Garrett Kropa, James and Beckett D’Albora; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 14th at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 600 Walnut Street, Cary, North Carolina. Visitation with the family will be held at the church starting at 3:00 pm. The service for family and friends will begin at 4:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dorcas Ministries, American Cancer Society, or a charity of choice.
