Paul George Babineau
July 5, 1950 – September 17, 2022
Paul George Babineau passed away peacefully in his home on September 17, 2022. He was born on July 5, 1950 to Edgar and Alice Babineau in Portland, Maine. After Paul graduated from Chevrus High School in 1968, he went on to study at St. Anslems College. Paul married Cynthia Metivier in 1972 and they went on to have two children. In 1977, Paul and Cynthia moved their family to North Carolina from Maine. His career spanned from solar heating sales to Ace Hardware to data center operations at the EPA and Bob’s Stores to his ultimate goal in life to own a pool hall. Babineau’ s Billiards was his dream and he and Cynthia made it a reality in 1999. Paul loved playing and watching all kinds of sports. He took his love for baseball as a kid into a passion for softball as an adult and played on many church league teams. He was an avid pool player and played competitively throughout his life. He enjoyed good times with family and friends and he was always up for a card game; bridge, cribbage or euchre. His friends and family will miss his big laugh and his warm smile. Paul is predeceased by his parents, Edgar and Alice. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cynthia Babineau; daughter Christine Hutchens and her husband Chip Hutchens and daughter Sarah Babineau; his grandchildren Logan, Landry, and Lucas Hutchens; and his brother Jerry Babineau and wife Jackie Babineau.
