Peggy is survived by her children, Debbie Brooks (John); Gary Cannady (Kathy); her sister, Hilda Grimes; and grandchildren Kristen Cannady, Jennifer Cannady, Jason Brooks and Jessica Walsh. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Ray Cannady; her daughter, Kathy Cannady; and her brother, Buck Porter.
Peggy was a devoted homemaker, and long-time employee of Ashworth’s Drug Store. She was a long-time volunteer for Dorcas Ministries, was a member of the Eastern Star, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cary.
She was a resident of Cary since 1959. She resided at Glenaire since 2014, and the family is deeply grateful for the love and special care she was provided.
A visitation for Peggy will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 Southeast Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. A funeral service will occur Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612.
