It was a special pleasure to work with Ralph as Assistant Appellate Division Reporter for three years in the eighties. What a wonderful boss and friend. He inspired a good work ethic while being the gentle, kind soul that he was. His love of UNC sports and his love of the Court made for fun banter and conversation. He was a dear man, and I am glad that I had the opportunity to work with him.
