A little late, but never too late to express my deep sympathy to Randy's family. Randy and I were classmates in medical school, and although we have not connected at all since graduation day, my memories are sweet of our close association. We spent many hours together studying and playing. I will never forget him. May God bless those of you left behind. I know you will see each other again. And may God continue to bless Randy's memory. He was a great man!

Randy and I were classmates at Bowman Gray, and many of my best memories involve him and Sandy, BEFORE they were married. I was shocked to see his obituary in the Wake Forest Magazine. My heartfelt condolences to Sandy (who taught me how to Clog dance) and to his family and to his father, whom I had the pleasure to know as well. William Wade Foster

I referred many patients to Randy. Many have asked over the years about him. Randy was extremely competent and he was a true clinician but his greatest attribute was how he connected and cared for his patients. His sincerity and down to earth nature touched many people including myself. God Bless you Randy and your dear ones you look down on everyday. Rickey Wiseman, M.D.

Dr.Randy B. will always have a special spot in the hearts and memories of our family for his personal and thoughtful care to my husband "Bill." He had a way of making his patients feel more like family than just patients. Heaven has gained a wonderful healer and a remarkable man! Our deep, heartfelt thoughts and sympathies to the family he very often shared stories about and undoubtedly loved so very much!

As Randy's hospital nurse I spent 5 years chasing him as he walked, and I ran, through the halls of the hospital. Always cheerful, always fun, always respectful of patients and family and always medically excellent. I still miss you my friend and hope you are finally able to rest comfortably. You deserve it!

To Randy's family; I was lucky to have known and worked with Randy for many years at the Heart Center. He was definitely a challenge to work for at times, but it was a privilege to work with such an excellent physician who was so devoted to his patients. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Holly Taylor

To Dr. Hartman's family, I was so sorry to read of his death. I worked with him for many year's both at smh and the heart center in the cath lab. What a great man he was, and those jokes he told. I was working with him the day his youngest was born, we all asked why he wasn't with his wife. He said he was better off "out of the way", and doing what he loved doing, helping others. To you Dr. Hartman, rest in peace. Mary "rosie Rose

I am so sorry for your loss. Randy and I along with my twin brother Bud and my best friend Theresa Crotts were childhood friends. We shared a lot of happy fun filled days playing as children. We had a cabin in Randy's Granddad Boyles pasture. We had a club and we paid 10 cents per week to be members and on Fridays we would go to the local general store and buy ourselves a treat. I am so proud to have know Randy and so proud of him as a very intelligent Doctor with a caring heart. He will be missed by friends and family.
