Dave, Judy and Emily, It is with heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your precious daughter/sister Becky.  We were very saddened to hear this tragic news.

Dear DeNardis family,
I cannot express in words the sorrow I feel for your tragic loss. I would like to share some of my memories of Becky in hopes that they may provide some comfort during this hard time. I met Becky our freshman year of high school. I did not know many people and finding a seat the first day in the cafeteria was a nightmare. I found Becky that day and we sat together almost every single day for the rest of the year. We were both shy but shared the same sense of humor, and I will always cherish the memories of our talks and laughs together at that lunch table. From then on, we began having some of the same classes together, especially math classes! We would always sit near each other, and I remember looking up in amazement at the questions she would ask! She would be so advanced in her thinking about a certain concept, while I would still be trying to copy the notes off of the board! I always admired that about her. I remember going to group study sessions late at night at Barnes & Noble before big math exams. She would almost always come, but to be quite honest, she did not even need to come! She already knew everything, but she would stay patiently and help me and others with challenging problems. She could've easily gone home, but she chose to help others. That was just who she was, so sweet and generous. My best memories of Becky will always be the time we spent together on the Cary High soccer team. I feel like that was when I truly got to know Becky. She was not just smart and kind, she was absolutely HILARIOUS! The jokes she would say under her breath would have me rolling on the ground laughing. I would always think to myself "did those words just come out of Becky's mouth?!" I remember being a senior co-captain with Becky and Emma Anderson and picking on our younger teammates in a big-sister kind of way. Becky would by far have the most witty cracks on people, and I would not be able to breathe for laughing so hard. As Coach Kerrigan would always say, "we want to win, but the wins are not what you will take away with you after all of this is over, it's the memories." I had so many good times with Becky on that soccer team, and she was a huge reason why I enjoyed going to practice everyday. Becky was an amazing person, beautiful inside and out, and I will always cherish these memories we had together. She made me want to play harder on the field, to work harder in the classroom, and to give more to others around my community. I feel that I became a better person by knowing Becky, and I am so honored to have befriended her. Her kindness and charm touched so many people. I hope that these memories may give you some peace. You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss, you and your loved ones are in my thoughts.  I cherish the time I got to spend with Becky back in the day, she was one of the most genuine and wonderful people I ever had the opportunity of meeting and befriending.  She will always be loved and missed.

Thank you for sharing your daughter with us at Cary High.   She was a joy to teach, and I have nothing but fond memories of her in Calculus class.   You raised a beautiful young woman.

We are so very sorry about your loss. Becky touched so many lives with her gentle nature and kind heart. We can't imagine the overwhelming loss you all are going through.  We are praying for God's peace to wash over you, and that your memories of Becky will bring you comfort.

Your family is in my prayers and thoughts. I was a former YMCA counselor at the elementary school her and Emily attended. It is so hard to believe and I still remember her as this sweet, giving little girl who was dressed up in her soccer clothes often and rolling her backpack. I pray that the memories you have made through the years will comfort you during this difficult time.

Dear DeNardis family we are heartbroken over your loss of Becky. We remember your family's kindness and Becky's smile on the soccer field for '92 CASL Spartan Elite. Those are treasured memories for us and ones we hold very close to our hearts - some of the best times of our lives and we loved sharing them with you and Becky. We remember Becky very well from the soccer field, travel trips and soccer car pools - she was very special and anyone could see that in her smile and her determination. I did not know Becky or any of her family yet feel a connection to her as my husband (a Duke grad) and I are frequently on the Duke campus for athletic/other events. Please accept our sincere sympathy for the loss of this jewel of a young lady. Although I cannot imagine the depth of your grief,I hope your pain is eased a little by the outpouring of love and concern from friends and strangers alike.

I was so sorry to hear of this tragedy. Becky's mathematical talents impressed me when she was still in high school. She was an inspiring young woman.  My deepest sympathy for your loss.
