Rebecca Stewart Wasner

Rebecca "Becky" Stewart Wasner, age 93, of Cary, North Carolina died Thursday, November 24, 2022. She was born on June 5, 1929 in Camilla, Georgia to the late Leon Vascoe Stewart and Mildred Rackley Stewart.

She moved to Jacksonville, Florida when she was twelve years old. She attended Riverside Elementary School, John Gorrie Junior High School and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1947. After graduating from high school she went to work for Prudential Life Insurance Company until her retirement.

She married Victor Douglas Wasner in 1990 and they continued to live in Jacksonville. After Vic's death in 2002, she moved to Cary, North Carolina to be near her sister and brother-in-law, Rev. Harvey L. Duke and June Duke. She was a member of Deermeadows Baptist Church in Jacksonville and Westwood Baptist Church in Cary.

Rebecca is survived by her sister: Mrs. June Stewart Duke, of Cary, North Carolina; and other extended family, including two nephews and their families: David Duke and Mark Duke.

Services will be held by her family with interment at Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Orange Park, Florida.
