Born on September 29, 1938 in Erie, PA, he was the youngest child of the late Frank and Regina Gromacki. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Mary Ann Gromacki. He was also preceded in death by his son, Richard James Gromacki Jr. and three sisters.
Surviving are his daughter, Elizabeth (Liddy) (and husband, Todd) Staker of Cary; granddaughters, Mimi Staker of New York City, Abby Staker of Cary; his brother, Tom Gromacki of Erie, PA and his beloved dog, Ginger.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. Visitation and fellowship will follow the service at the funeral home.
