It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Leo Levesque (Dick) on March 24, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lorraine (Leclair) Levesque, who was by his side. Dick was born April 10, 1943 to Lionel Levesque & Lea Dufresne Levesque in West Warwick, RI.
Dick is survived by his two children, Richard Levesque & Debra Haynes (husband Tim). He is also survived by his brother, Robert Levesque (wife Doris); his five grandchildren, Corey Edson (Morgan), Kaitlyn Himebauch (Kurt), Benjamin Levesque, Erin Levesque, and Michael Haynes (Hana); his two great grandchildren, Maddox & Lillian Haynes, and his unborn great granddaughter; and 14 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by sister Lucille Levesque Canavan.
After graduating from Vocational Tech in Cranston, RI, he worked as a carpenter before being drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War. After 2 years, he returned home and began working for Mahr Federal and after working there for 40 years, he retired alongside his wife and moved to North Carolina to be closer to his family.
Dick had a strong enthusiasm for his vehicles, with a particular fondness for his 1994 teal corvette. He also found pleasure in traveling along the New England coast on his motorcycle and camping with friends and family. He cherished spending quality time with loved ones and found pleasure in dining at various restaurants.
He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength and full of love. He will be missed dearly.
