Robert Meade Armfield

Born on February 3, 1940, in Marshville, Union County, NC, Bob grew up with the values of hard work, family, and faith that shaped the man he became. He went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a place he carried with pride throughout his life.

Bob dedicated the majority of his career to public service, working in law enforcement across several agencies in Wake County while making his home in Cary, NC. He was deeply respected for his commitment to protecting and serving his community.

Beyond his career, Bob lived a life full of passion and adventure. He was an avid marksman and a skilled pilot, building and flying his own plane for many years. Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, Bob never met a stranger and brought joy to everyone who knew him.

Above all, Bob’s greatest devotion was to his family. He was the beloved husband of Judith Armfield for 61 years, a proud and loving father to Jeff and Chris, and the cherished Papa to Allison, Miranda, Anna, Macy, and Maddie. His love for them was unconditional and his family was his greatest pride.

We will celebrate and honor Bob’s life on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in a private room at Serafina Ristorante, 126 N Salem Street, Apex, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Bob’s memory.
