Robert Leslie Arold

Cary, NC

Robert Leslie Arold, 75, died April 16, 2010. He was born in Lakewood, Ohio, December 5, 1934, to Leslie Herman and Bessie Edna Dross Arold.

Robert is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Jennifer (Scott) Rubertus, Craig (Cindy) Arold, and Mark (Paula) Arold; grandchildren, Kristyn, Matthew, Lauren, Lindsay, Robert, Blake, Jenna, and Derek, and sister, Ruth Fanning.

Bob had a career as an equity partner in the international accounting firm of Ernst & Young, followed by employment with the State of North Carolina Department of Insurance. A graduate of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio with a commission in the US Air Force, he served in Ramstein, Germany, for three years with the 2nd Communications Group.

Community and church participation was high on his list of responsibilities, such as president of a homeowners' association, Little League coach for many years, church choirs and finance committee chairman in several locations, and chairmanships in the Rotary Club of North Raleigh.

His sense of humor endeared himself to his friends and family, who will miss him greatly.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 30, 2010, at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 4801 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, followed by a burial of ashes ceremony in the church memorial/prayer garden.
