Robert D. DeMartino, 68, of Cary, NC, passed away on February 28, 2016 after a valiant battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Bob was born in Syracuse on August 5, 1947 and graduated from Fayetteville-Manlius High School and Mohawk Valley Community College. Bob lived and worked for many years in Rochester, NY before heading to NC for warmer weather and salt-free roads. An avid NASCAR fan, he enjoyed working on his collection of cars, racing slot cars and playing horseshoes with friends.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Robert P. DeMartino and Ruth Miller. Survived by sisters Cathy Micale and Nancy (Ken) Elander; and nephews Christopher (Ailie Hamm) Gellert, Joshua and Kyle Elander.
Services are private. Bob requested his body be used to further Parkinson’s Disease research.
