I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Godbold. While I didn't have the pleasure to know him personally I have had the pleasure of benefiting greatly from the work he did for the Town of Cary. We are all better off for his dedication and commitment to improving the lives of others. My thoughts and prayers are with all Bob's family and friends.

I was a Cary High School friend of Edna Ruth. I remember her big brother, Bobby, fondly and well. I was saddened to see his obituary in the News & Observer. Love and prayers for all the family, Jeanette Long Davenport (Apex, NC)

Hi Jane,

My name is Mike Matheny and my wife is Karen's. Please accept our deepest sympathy. I knew and worked with Bob on many projects throughout Cary and I always had the most respect for him. I met you on a couple of occasions but I am sure you do not remember me. Just know that you husband was a friend of mine. I have the utmost respect for Bob and all the things he did for our town.

Thank You, Mike & Karen Matheny

Jane, Larry, Janet, Susan, Phil and grandchildren. We have such fond and fun memories of Bob. He was so proud of Cary and gave so much of himself to the town. We are proud to have known him for so many years and pray your loving memories will help heal the hurt you feel now. So sorry we will not be able to come to the services. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Jane, Larry, Susan, and all of you.

Upon coming to FUMC many years ago I fondly remember meeting Bob and Jane as they welcomed me to town and the church. I had the opportunity to meet and visit your grandparents on many occasions and hear the stories of Cary and the church from days gone by.

Bob served his church and community for many years and had a love for our history and cared about the future.. I'm happy I knew Bob and he will be missed.

I am so sorry for you families loss. He was a great man and good neighbor to my family as we were growing up in Cary. Will always remember good times sitting in our front yard with Bobby and Jane and all of us kids playing and him coming to cheer us on at our softball games. He will be missed. Your family will be in my prayers.
