Robert J. Keitz, Jr., 86, died Wednesday, October 24, 2012. He was born in Covington, KY on July 11, 1926 to Robert and Margaret Keitz. Robert served in the US Navy during WWII on the Marshall Islands in the South Pacific. He retired from the USAF in 1963 after 20 years of service. He then worked for the US Government with FEMA and retired in 1989. After which, he went to work for EG&G, a government contractor. He finished his working career with 10 years at Kmart. He retired in November 2011. Robert attended Cary Alliance Church.
Robert is survived by his wife, Ann Braden Keitz; sons, Robert of Raleigh and Richard (Mary) of Virginia Beach; daughter, Mary Quinealty (Micheal) of Houma, LA; 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth Thompson, Kimberly Rodgers and Micheal Quinealty; brothers, Charles, Sidney, Herbert and Melvin; and sister, June Cox. He is also survived by stepsons, T.B., Paul and John Robinson; stepdaughter, Susan Litchfield; and 11 stepgrandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Martz Keitz; sister, Betty Hill and granddaughter, Amanda Rodgers.
A memorial service will be held 2:00p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 S.E. Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2012 at the funeral home.
Private burial will be at Wake Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dorcas Ministries, 187 High House Road, Cary, NC 27511 or Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
