

Robert was born in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Ernest Baxter Miller Sr. and Margaret Banks Frieson. He served in the U.S. Air Force, including service in Korea and Vietnam, and retired after more than 10 years of military service.
After leaving the Air Force, Robert began a long career with IBM, where he worked as a systems analyst for nearly 30 years. He was also a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary.
Robert often spoke fondly of his formative years at St. Emma Military Academy near Powhatan, Virginia, where he developed leadership skills and formed friendships that lasted throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Daladier Caroline Miller, and his brother, Ernest Baxter Miller Jr.
Robert is survived by his children:
• Christopher Anthony Miller, his wife Josephine, and their son Deuce; and Christopher’s children Ajila (Kylie Gersbach, mother) and Derrick Faith.
• Margaret Lynn Miller.
• Robert Thomas Miller II, his wife Yuko, and their son Jacob.
• Maria Magdalene Miller-Donaldson and her husband Todd Donaldson.
• Patrick Dominic Miller, his wife Linda, and their daughter Elise; and Olivia Rene Miller (Donna Brunaccini, mother) and her daughters Ariana, Sienna, and Giana.
• Monica Michelle Miller, her husband Joe Nemeth, and Monica’s daughter Daladier Caroline Miller II.
• Mark Allan Miller, and his daughters Lauren Sayaka Goldman and Caterina Akemi Schenck.
• Michael Andrew Miller.
A funeral service will be held 11am Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 804 High House Rd., Cary, NC 27513.
The family will receive friends 6pm-8pm Monday, March 16, 2026, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd., Cary, NC 27511. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
