Robert T. “Bucky” Sanderson

Mr. Sanderson was employed by Graybar Electric Company for 40 years prior to retiring in 1987.

He is survived by his son Steve of the home, daughter Susan, her husband Troy McLean and their daughter Colleen of Durham, and his daughter-in-law Angela Stancil Sanderson of Clinton.

He was preceded in death by his sister Fannie Lee Fraim, his wife of 60 years Mary Jane Leonard Sanderson, and his sons Gregg Anthony Sanderson and Michael Wayne Sanderson.

Over the years Mr. Sanderson enjoyed fishing and boating at his beach house at Emerald Isle, listening to bluegrass music, watching old westerns, and building, fixing and organizing just about anything. In his later years, most of his time and energy went to the care of his wife and eldest son Steve. He was a good father to all of his children, but his love and devotion to Steve was admirable and endearing to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd, Cary. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Raleigh Memorial Park.
