Bob was a personal hero of mine as well as the father of some of my oldest friends.
I'll always think of him fondly.

Marilyn and Family,  And so we lose another wonderful founder of our St. Andrew's Parish.  Was a touching tribute that your grandson gave to his grandfather at the reception following Bob's funeral.  Such a loving, large family who cared so much for their parents.  Their Dad will be greatly missed, but they will have so many happy memories of Bob.  God Bless you All. You don't know me, but in 1972 I stopped by Richwood, WV to pick up my new RFI raft.  Bob was the one who met me, and his boat has taken me on a lifetime of adventure.  A decade ago I began documenting the History of Rubber Fabricators and the key people involved in the "rubber inflatable raft" manufacturing business.  In the process I met Betty Zannoni and then bob Schnurr, who was a great help to me.  ironically we both had similar neck injuries. To the Schnurr clan,
We will always remember your father, the incomprable RL, fondly.  He truly was one-of-a-kind and we know all will miss him terribly.  Our heartfelt sympathy to your wonderful mother and the entire Schnurr family.

Dear Marilyn, Julie, Steve, Mary Ann, Ellen, Marty, Robby, Greg, and John,

I was greatly saddened by the news that Bob had passed away and I pray that you will find comfort in the knowledge that he now lives in God's loving embrace.
 
I remember him, my children remember him, my grandchildren remember him.  He put a smile on my first grandson's face one night after dinner with a dollar for each "A" on his report card.  
 
After daily mass sometimes he used to ride with Jim to pick up Carla's dog, Rosco. Five pound Rosco had to sit on Bob's lap while Jim drove home and hearing Bob talk about it made me laugh.  Lots of other good memories--things were never boring when Bob was there.  I miss that.

Mr. Robert always gave you that stern look at first. But we could see underneath all that to see a good man. He loved to make jokes with me and Sherriff. He will surely be missed.

I met Bob many years ago in a small group gathering at St. Andrew.  In the group we had to describe ourselves with a descriptive word beginning with the first letter of our name. Bob introduced himself as "Bashful" Bob and those that knew him chuckled. I reminded him years later of our first meeting and his introduction and we both laughed. He certainly wasn't bashful.He was a gift to those who crossed his path and a wonderful example as he shared his life and his Faith. I will miss him. My prayers and thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.
