Ron was born in Allentown, PA, the son of the late Ralph E. and Arlene R. Reichard. He graduated from William Allen High school in 1984, and immediately enlisted in the US Marine Corps. He proudly served his country as an integrated weapon system technician on the F/A-18 aircraft until he was honorably discharged in 1989. After the marines, he attended and graduated from Villanova University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering. Throughout his productive and rewarding career, he worked as a RF applications, design, and test engineer and consultant for several companies including Northrop Grumman, RF Micro Devices, Qualcomm, Microsoft, and UL (Underwriters Laboratories).
An avid sports fan, he was never without his terrible towel at his side during the Pittsburg Steelers games. In addition to cheering on his other beloved teams the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Flyers, he enjoyed reading Stephen King novels, listening to music (mostly Rush, his favorite band), watching Westerns, Star Trek, action/thriller & horror movies, and experimenting with new homebrew recipes. With his family, he enjoyed playing video games, disc golf, vacations at the beach, and going to amusement parks where he tried to coax everyone on the high thrill rides. Ron had a talent for music. In his youth, he taught himself how to play the trumpet and utilized his beautiful singing voice in Pocono Boy Singers and in American Music Aboard.
Ron often said that life with him may not always be easy, but it would be always be an adventure, and it was. A husband, and a dedicated father, he will be greatly missed.
Ron was preceded in death by his sister DeAnn Reichard, and brother Timothy Reichard. He is survived by his spouse, Betty-Anne Reichard; son, Ian Anthony Reichard and daughter, Audrey Marie Reichard; Uncle Roger Reichard and wife Lucille, and Aunt Roberta Reichard; nieces Cassandra Rodriguez and Kelsey Bates; and several great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Siena 1825 W. Turner St. Allentown, PA on December 21 at 10:30am, following a remembrance in the vestibule at 10:00am. The interment of ashes will follow the mass at Greenwood Cemetery, Allentown.
