Sally Baughan Baker, 79, of Wendell, NC died April 21, 2011. She was born in Kingsport, TN on May 4, 1931 to Charles and Mildred (Baker) Baughan. Mrs. Baker was a native of Wake County. She retired from Corning/AVX in Raleigh and moved to the NC Mountains. She recently moved back to Wake County due to her declining health. Mrs. Baker was a gifted artist and a published poet. She was a devoted Christian and a wonderful mother.
Mrs. Baker is survived by her children, Michael Baker and wife, Mary, Lonnie Baker and wife, Linda, Kenneth Baker and fiancee, Kim McCall, and daughter, Lisa Wagner and husband, Jeff; sisters, Virginia Jones, Shirley Stephenson and husband, Kent; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and her devoted dog, Fluffy.
A graveside service will be held 12:00 noon Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Cary, NC.
