Sally Morris Ledford Warner, 87, of Cary, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Transitions Lifecare Hospice in Raleigh, NC. Born January 15, 1939, in Dawson Springs, Kentucky, Sally was the daughter of the late Walter Amon Morris and Anne Loreene Ramsey Morris. She will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude for the quiet grace of her presence, and for the gentle, kind-hearted way she moved through the world and cared for those around her.
Sally was a graduate of Western Kentucky University, earning a degree in Home Economics—an education that reflected her steady devotion to home, hospitality, and the everyday acts of care that make life warmer and more welcoming.
A faithful member of White Plains United Methodist Church in Cary, Sally served on various committees, always searching for a way to serve and include others. In those efforts, her consideration for others and her calm, thoughtful spirit were evident, offering comfort and belonging to many.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Sidney Ledford; brothers, Walter “Bro” Ramsey Morris and John “Birdie” Morris; and sister, Renie Nichols.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Marks Warner; sons, Larry Ledford and his wife, Leigh, and John Ledford and his wife, Alice; step-sons, Ed Warner and his wife, Cindy, and Brian Warner; grandchildren, Grant Ledford, Thomas Ledford, Seth Ledford, Drew Ledford, and Elise Ledford; and loving niece, Janie Nichols.
In her personal life, Sally was the master of coffee cake and other baked goods—gifts made with patience and care, shared in a spirit of simple generosity. She volunteered in her community and stayed closely connected with friends and family, communicating in ways that strengthened bonds and reminded others they were remembered. That steady connection, offered so naturally by Sally, will be missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 11am Monday, July 27, 2026 at White Plains United Methodist Church, Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private graveside service will be held at Apex Cemetery.
