‘Sassy Sara’ loved her family and friends, always placing those ahead of herself. Her personality was bigger than life, her giving heart was apparent to all, and her laugh was infectious. Everyone will miss her trademark ‘Heeeeey girl, whatchu doin?’ greeting in her distinctive West Virginia/North Carolina blended twang.
Sara is survived by her husband of 35 years, Keith; sister, Kristi Scaggs of Logan, WV; many nieces and nephews; 2 bulldogs (her ‘babies’), Pippa and Brody; and the ultimate joy of her life, her daughter, Andrea of Raleigh, NC.
Sara was a loving wife, mother, friend, co-worker, and dog mom. She was known as ‘Mama ‘Cuse’ to many of Andrea’s childhood friends who thought of her as their second mom.
Sara’s real estate career involved being an onsite agent for local builders and most recently as an agent for Fonville Morissey in the Lochmere office. She developed many deep friendships with clients and coworkers along the way.
Sara will be remembered for her zestful outgoing personality, constant thinking of and lending a helping hand or ear to others, and setting a model example of being a loving mother for Andrea to follow.
Friends are invited to pay their last respects to Sara at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd, Cary, NC on Saturday, March 11 from 1-3pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, www.stjude.org, or Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516, www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
