Sherri Diane Duryea

She was born in Onslow County to the Late Sonny and Katie Batts. As a two-time cancer survivor, she was at home at the coast, specifically Surf City, where she was born and raised. The beach was her saving grace. A devoted wife, mother and Nonnie, family was the most important aspect of her life - constantly attending her grandchildren's sporting and school events. She was never more happy than being surrounded by her family. She was preceeded in death by her sister, Donna Batts.

Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Dennis Duryea; daughters, Stephanie Sykes and her husband, John, Sunny Faircloth and her husband, Courtney; son, Kyle Duryea; grandchildren, Garrett Sykes, Landon Sykes, Katie Faircloth, Kinsley Faircloth; sister, Deborah ("Sister") Batts; brother, Randy Batts; numerous neices and nephews; her namesake, Aunt Diane Geary; several aunts and uncles and faithful "Breast Friends".

A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Hope Community Church, 821 Buck Jones Road, Raleigh, NC 27606. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the services.
