Sidney Allen Foltz Jr.

Sidney Allen Foltz, Jr. 83, formerly of Cary, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2011 after an extended illness. He was born September 11, 1927 in Salisbury, NC to the late Sidney A. Foltz Sr. and Clara (Miller) Foltz. Sidney served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, was employed with American Guaranty Insurance for over 30 years and during that time served as past President of the Insurance Claims Association of NC. He was a member of Cary Masonic Lodge #198, a member of The Order of Eastern Star where he served in many positions including Past Grand Patron, 1991-1992. He was awarded the Long Leaf Pine Award by Governor Jim Hunt. Sidney was also active with Boy Scouts of America Troop 210 and he was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cary for 52 years.

Sidney is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nancy Owen Foltz of Willow Spring, NC; son, The Reverend Tripp Foltz (Sheila) of Siler City, NC, daughter, Joy Pierce (Scott) of Garner, NC; granddaughters, Bethany Brewer (Joe), Sydni Foltz and Samantha Foltz; great grandson, Scotty Brewer; brother, Jimmy Foltz (Gail) of Salisbury, NC.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Cary. Entombment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 pm, Tuesday, May 24 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road Cary, NC.
