It is with immense sadness that we say goodbye to Susan Berlin, who passed away at her home on Thursday, October 24, 2024. Born on November 14, 1944 to Irving and Lottie Berlin, in Brooklyn NY, she was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt (great aunt and even a great great aunt), cousin and friend.
Susan was a spit fire, never failing to speak her mind and fight for her beliefs. Her Brooklyn accent could fill a room and her love for her family history will live on through generations to come. Susan also shared a deep love of animals, and leaves behind her beloved four legged son, Bootsy.
Susan had an intense passion for the arts, painting, music and travel. She even taught herself to play the piano. You could often find her hanging out in her living room listening to Doo wop and reminiscing on her youth. She loved watching funny tic tocs and going on her Facebook catching up with friends.
For Susan, family always came first. She was passionate about family and encouraged large gatherings (often accompanied by bagels and story times). She had a way of effortlessly bringing our family together, sharing laughter, jokes and our rich history.
Above all else, Susan treasured her family. She found her greatest joy in the love and laughter she shared with everyone, and even moved to North Carolina to be closer to family.
Susan is survived by her niece Pami Jesse, her children Megan Kain, Bryce Kain, Heather Jesse, Ryan Jesse, and nephew Corey Berlin, his wife Carolyn and their children Samantha Berlin, Joshua Berlin, Jacob Berlin and Sarah Berlin, great great niece and nephew Campbell and Grayson Kain, plus a host of family and friends who will forever cherish her memories.
A memorial service will be held at Brown-Wynne funeral home on Monday October 26, 2024 at 1:30pm
As we say goodbye to our aunt we hold onto the memories that are close to our hearts. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all the lives that she has touched. We find comfort in knowing that she will continue to watch over us as our guardian angel. We love you dearly.
