Susanne Ferrandino

Susanne Ferrandino of Cary passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Rex Healthcare in Raleigh. She was born on September 9, 1953 in Queens, New York and is predeceased by her parents Louis Ferrandino and Rose Santaniello Ferrandino and sister-in-law Mary Gibbs.

Susanne is survived by her beloved husband, Dennis Gibbs; daughters, Brianna and Kira Anderson; granddaughter, Avery Jury; sisters, Donna Ferrandino and Linda Butler; brother-in-law’s, Steven Simon and George Butler; stepdaughter, Kelsey Gibbs; brother-in-law’s, Lee (Jo) Gibbs of New Braunfels, TX, Larry (Sally) Gibbs of Burlington, NC, Russell (Lynn) Gibbs of Gaithersburg, MD, Frank (Gloria) Gibbs of Fort Wayne, IN; and Nanci Gibbs of Durham, NC.

Susanne spent her work life in the travel industry, starting at American Airlines, and worked for various travel agencies. Her last position was with American Express. During her life, Susanne loved most of all to travel and had visited many places on four continents and in the US. She was an avid reader, animal lover, loved shopping with family, and was Star Trek's #1 fan.

Susanne will be painfully missed by her loving family and her many, many friends. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Rex Hospital and the UNC medical system for all the superior care that was provided to Susanne over the last 20 years. A special thank you to Dr. James Jollis and Dr. Curtis Anderson who through their gallant efforts helped to sustain Susanne's life and provided her family the chance to spend more loving time with her.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, February 11th at 2 pm followed by a service of remembrance at 3 pm at the Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road., Cary, NC 27511.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in Susanne's name, or gifts to family members, please contribute to help Dennis pay for funeral expenses and outstanding medical expenses that were accrued during Susanne's long illness.
