Thomas Kirk Stuart

Born on December 9, 1944, in Raleigh, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Raiford and Annie Stuart.

A graduate of Broughton High School, Tom furthered his education at the Dan Mar School of Hair Design. On July 17, 1965, he married the love of his life, Barbara Jean Cash Stuart, and together they shared 61 years of devotion and happiness. Throughout his life, Tom had a deep passion for metalworking, particularly building hot rod cars. He began restoring hot rods in 1965, earning numerous awards for his craftsmanship and dedication to the hobby. In recent years, he enjoyed spending time building models that reflected his lifelong passion.

Tom and Barbara co-owned Fashion Trend Hairstyling in downtown Raleigh for over 30 years, where they touched the lives of many in the community.

Tom leaves behind his loving wife, Barbara Stuart; his daughter, Sharon Jean Stuart (Shari) of Cary, NC; his cherished granddaughter, Samantha Jean Bell of Savannah, Georgia; and his sister, Barbara Ann Stuart Lewis.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
