Valerie was a good Christian that loved her family. She reminded me often that God gave us free will and everyone was responsible for their decisions.  A very wise lady and friend. Blessings, Larry Paul

Valerie was such a character. We met at With Love From Jesus and soon became friends.  She was the most honest and straight forward friend I had. She will be dearly missed, never without her beloved Diet Dr. Pepper.

Valerie will be greatly missed by her friends at  With Love From Jesus . She was a volunteer with us for over 8 years. During this time she showed a lot of improvement in controlling her feelings toward family and friends. Valerie had lots  of questions  surrounding God and reaching heaven. Her sincerity was real and she became committed to the Lord and the helping of others in need. She was strong willed in her commitment to not only serve but wanting others to join her in heaven. VALERIE.  I MISS SO MUCH.  YOU WERE THE SISTER THAT I NEVER HAD.  MY ADOPTED PARENTS  AND YOU SPENT MORE TIME THAN YOU AND THERE TWO BIOLOGICAL CHILDERN.   SINCE THEY WERE OLDER THN ME. Drove in from the airport to a McDonald’s in Cary, went over to Valerie‘s house, we went to her parents house, we ate at the Angus Barn, went to Providence Adult Singles Game Night, had custom name tags made and played UNO, went to Walmart, Valerie‘s place, I spent the night at Valerie‘s parents.

Went to IHOP, went to Adventure Landing, rode go carts, played arcade games, played putt putt golf, went to the mall to eat lunch, walked around a lot, went to Walmart, went to Valerie’s, attended Front Line Christian picnic in the park, danced, watched a dancing artist performance, listened to a testimony, went for a walk by the lake, went to Valerie’s, I spent the night with Valerie‘s parents,

Went to the early church service at Colonial, went to Tangler outlet to return a purse, ate at Arby’s, went to Wet N Wild Water Park, ate at the Olive Garden, went to Valerie’s, watched The Money Pit, I spent the night with Valerie’s parents,

Ate breakfast at Bojangles, visited With Love From Jesus, went to Pullen Park, went on train ride, went on the paddle boats, rode on the carousel horses, went to Valerie‘s parents, we ate at Wendy’s, went swimming at the YMCA, went on the water slide, it thunder stormed on us, went bowling, Valerie threw three strikes, had dinner at Valerie’s parents southern barbecue, spent the night at Valerie’s parents.

We ate at the Bahama Breeze, I took her home, took the car rental back, they bussed me to the airport, my flight was delayed 1-½ hours, they rescheduled a different connecting flight, the airport declared a fire emergency and was evacuated, went through security again, made all my flights home safe and sound.

I remember dancing with Valerie at Fort Caswell! Valerie did not let
her CP limit her.  Valerie drove, had her own place, worked at Kohls for many years, and was active with various Christian groups, including going to Fort Caswell for many years.

Valerie loved Jesus, loved serving Jesus!  Now, Valerie is with Jesus with no CP!  Valerie was an inspiration to me and many others, and Valerie will be missed.  But, we will all be reunited in Heaven one day!

Thank you Valerie for making a difference, and gracing us with your presence!

Valerie!  I can’t believe you are gone.  It all happened so fast and left many things I wish we could have said undone.  You were definitely an angel and Gods messenger here with us all for just a little time. If we had all known when you were going to be called to heaven we could have all loved on you more till the last minute and told you how great you were and how what a good friend you were to me!  I saw you grow over the years to be an amazing person with such a strong, beautiful faith in God and am so proud of you.  There is not one doubt in my mind of where you are.  You are with God now and in the presence of Jesus.  I know you are so happy.  I hope you know how much I love you and how amazing of a friend you had always been to me.  Our Ravenscroft days at school and our sleepovers at your old house and swimming in your pool and watching movies in your basement and listening to Poison were some of our great childhood memories!  Then in our adulthood life took over but we would always stay in touch and you would always send me a card for holidays and bdays.  ❤️  Always signed “Valerie” I will miss getting those in the mail.  I will miss knowing I can always call you and seeing your call come in my phone too.  
I do know how much you loved Jesus here and how you talked about Him and shared Him with everyone so know you have made Jesus smile and proud and He finally said to you...come home.  I love you and will forever miss you and think about you often.  Hugs and kisses Valerie.  I know you will always be watching over me too.  

I remember Valerie as a very determined young woman who prided herself in doing it “her way” no matter what that entailed.  We had a long conversation last year and it was evident”her way” was working out because she was happy. She didn’t have all she wanted but she expressed the patience she learned and her faith in God to give her, her heart’s desires in His time.
Her assignment here is complete as she lives eternally with Him.

My fondest memory of Valerie is at Christmas time.  As a family, we gather at my sister Robin's house on Christmas Eve.  I couldn't  wait for Valerie to walk in with her brightly colored Christmas dress on.  She always came full of joy and enthusiasm.  In fact, she was always that way every time I saw her.  We would have great talks about our faith and how good God was, all the time!  I will miss her because of the joy she would bring to any occasion but know beyond a shadow of a doubt that she is with Jesus. 

Valerie and I shared a room at the Memorial Day Caswell Beach Singles Retreat in 2018.   She was a considerate, kind-hearted friend who prided herself on being self-sufficient despite her disability.  I remember her telling me about the puppy she adopted who needed to be trained.

My Mom and I saw her recently working at Kohl's in Cary and it's hard for me to believe she has pass so soon after we last met.   I don't doubt the Angels would be proud to welcome her into God's Glory.  'Til we meet again Valerie.

Valerie, Strawberryval, Valerina Ballerina-
You lived your life with determination, independence, reflection, joy and love-for your family, friends, pookie and tootsie.  Memories of our tutoring sessions, Christmas decorating, and dinner conversations cause me to reflect on the fierceness with which you created and managed your life, on your smile and  laugh, and on the intention that, for whatever our time  on earth, is vital. I appreciate that you were in my life-what we taught each other. I am sad and miss you-your spirit is vivid in my heart. 

Valerie will be remembered by me as a person who overcame difficulties in life that were beyond her control, making up for them by being focused and hard-working. Her faith in Jesus Christ, and her membership and participation in efforts with Christian friends, have surely taken her to a place at the table set for her by our Savior. All of you are in our prayers, and we are so sorry for the loss of Valerie all too soon. Jenny McCall
