Wilhelmina (Wilma) Boll Knapp

Wilhelmina (Wilma) Boll Knapp, 92, of Winter Springs, Florida passed away on February 1, 2013.

She was born December 3, 1920 in St. Louis, MO. She and husband Willard (Bill) Knapp resided in St. Louis and Omaha, NE before moving to Raleigh, NC in 1954. She was widowed in 1968. She worked for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction as an administrative assistant retiring in 1980. After that she worked for H&M Diversified for 20 years. She moved to Florida in 2003. Wilma was an active member at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Raleigh for 50 years. She was an avid bowler and loved to travel with her grandsons.

Survivors include: 2 Daughters Julia K. Hoagland and Donna K. Meckstroth and husbands Gerald Hoagland and David Meckstroth respectively; 3 Grandsons Chad Meckstroth, Michael Hoagland, and Jonathan Meckstroth and wife Cassie; 5 Great Grandchildren Anya Meckstroth, Zachary Meckstroth, Caitlin Hoagland, Kayla Meckstroth, and Ayden Meckstroth; and a brother Herman Boll.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Lutheran Hour Ministries, 660 Mason Ridge Center, St. Louis, MO 63141.

Funeral service will be held at Raleigh Memorial Park Chapel, 7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612 on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 1:00 PM.

Grandma Knapp was a huge part of my young childhood. I will be always gratful for the love she and her family showed me. Just thinking about her puts the biggest smile on my face. She was a classy lady.

I am so very sorry to hear of Wilma's death. We worked together at DPI in Driver's Ed/Safety. I truly loved her. She was a wonderful person. My sincere sympathy to the family. RIP Wilma.

I will miss Grandma Knapp very much. I enjoyed seeing her on the holidays at Aunt Julie's and Uncle Gerry's house. She will always be Grandma to me.
