

Linnell was born May 26, 1963 in New Rochelle, NY, to Dorothy Ann Jefferies-McBride (deceased) and William Arthur Totten. He graduated from New Rochelle High School in 1981. He was married to his wife Michelle for 35 years, and they raised their three children in Havelock, NC. Linnell served 13 years in the Marine Corp with an additional 3 years in the Army National Guard; and we salute him for his service.
Linnell is preceded by his mother, Dorothy Ann Jefferies-McBride and his step-father Jefferson D. McBride; and is survived by his wife, Michelle Nin Totten; his children, William Linnell Totten Jr., Tiara LaTrice Totten, and Nakia Totten; his grandchildren, Napoleon Totten, Fabian Totten, Lucia Totten, Julian Totten. He is lovingly remembered by his father, William Arthur Totten; his brothers, Steven Totten (Nicole) and RaShaun McBride; and a host of relatives, friends and loved ones.
Linnell was a proud family man and his love for his entire family was limitless. He would often tell stories about his wife, kids or grandkids and did so with humor and love. No one could tell a story like Linnell and his sense of humor remained intact until the bitter end. Linnell was also an avid sports fan, and you can rest assured that he would let you know when his team won, and when your team lost. Linnell will be missed for his great sense of humor, devotion to his family and honor as a man. He leaves a treasure of fond memories and a footprint on everyone whose life he touched.
A celebration of Linnell’s life will be held Wednesday, June 28th, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary, NC; followed by the burial at Eastern Carolina Veteran State Cemetery in Goldsboro, NC.
